Meet the Londiani Team

24 September 2015

We've been using real stories to help us show what the new Sustainable Development Goals are all about. Over on Facebook we've been sharing more about the work we do and introducing some of the people who work for Friends of Londiani.
Each of the goals relates in some way to the work we do with the money you raise. Meeting the people who work on the ground is a way of bringing that to life. If you don't already engage with us on Facebook, find our page here and like it to receive the latest updates in your newsfeed.

Introducing some of the team

Salim Koskei is supporting stock controller for Friends of Londiani in Kenya. Salim is also responsible for the BeeKeeping Apriary project at St. Kizito’s and for community BeeKeeping projects. Bees are vital to the sustainability of the planet because they are the chief pollinators of most flowering plants & trees & 60% of food crops – if we don’t have bees then we won’t have crops to eat.

John Sawe manages stocks for Friends of Londiani in Kenya. He looks after ordering and keeping records for what is needed at project sites from water tanks to pipes to soap to copy books. John is also the Friends of Londiani driver when required for transporting staff and volunteers to projects & events in the area.

Caroline Chepngetich whose role in Friends of Londiani is with the Community Health Strategy. This is a Kenyan government initiative that works with a bottom up approach to create healthy households looked after by volunteer health workers. Caroline works closely with these health workers to support them in their roles.

Josline Kepkoech who is the Office Administrator in the Friends of Londiani office in Londiani. Her work is finance related and supports the operations manager and the CEO. Like infrastructure in the community this role supports the organisation and the team to do what they do in the community.

Reuben Kirui– the local word for a builder or tradesperson is Fundi – Reuben is the Friends of Londiani Fundi who is construction supervisor for all the building projects. Julius Kipkoech Korir is builder for the Healthy Schools construction projects such as improved pit latrines and washrooms for girls & boys. Other building projects include the water schemes such as rain water harvesting tanks and the gravity water fed schemes.
