The world is changing, are you?
The world is changing, are you?
Volunteers play an important role in implementing change in the world and can make a big difference to the everyday lives of ordinary people.
Saturday 5th December is International Volunteering Day and if you have been thinking about volunteering, this is the perfect time to think about how your skills and energy could benefit those around you.
Here at Friends of Londiani we offer something very different – a chance to volunteer overseas and play a big part in our activities on the ground in Kenya. It’s a two or three week opportunity to fly out with our experienced team and work directly with our Kenyan staff to deliver essential services.
But what should you expect as a volunteer?
Maria Kidney from Friends of Londians sums it up perfectly. She said:“Go with an open mind, a flexible nature and a willingness to help. Share the experience with team mates who start out as strangers and become close friends and local people who will amaze you with their positive attitude, perseverance and ingenuity. Come home with a wealth of memories, a personally enriching experience and a whole new perspective on life.”
Volunteering overseas also gives you the perfect opportunity to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
