The challenges of womanhood

14 May 2015

Women and girls all over the world regularly miss school or work every time they menstruate. Lack of access to hygienic sanitary products and the stigma attached to periods, means that young girls miss huge chunks of their education.

This year more than 250 organisations all over the world will support Menstrual Hygiene Day on 28 May 2015 in an attempt to support women and girls and get people talking about a subject that is such a taboo.

During May we’ll share stories and experiences across all of our social media platforms, from our work here in Londiani. The aim is simple, to understand the issues girls face and show how we can make a difference.

If you want to get involved then use the hashtag #menstruationmatters and find out more about our work with the Girls for Girls programme.

Together we can break the taboo.
