It is with deep sadness that Friends of Londiani would like to inform you of the death of Lucille Kirui, manager of Bethel Faith Home. She died in Kenya. Lucille dedicated her life to the care of children in Bethel Faith Home and to many other children in her professional life as a teacher. It was Lucille's proposal for a Girl Guide service project at Bethel that led to the first visit of Guide volunteers from Ireland and Northern Ireland to Londiani in 2002. Bethel Faith Home subsequently hosted a number of Friends of Londiani service projects. Friends of Londiani would like to express its deepest sympathy to Lucille's family, especially her son, her sisters Anna Mainek and Etta Kiprono, all the Bethel children and the wider community of Bethel at this difficult time. …May the Good Lord hold her in the palm of His hand.
