Happy Valentines from Friends of Londiani

Friends of Londiani (FOL) have launched a Valentines Fundraising campaign to raise funds for their on-going community development work in Kenya. FOL is a small Irish charity and is celebrating 10 years of community partnership this year.

For Valentines, FOL are offering a unique honey &chocolates gift for you to buy your special Valentine. Each gift, packaged individually with a red and gold Valentine hearts theme, contains 3 little pots of Terry’s Honey and 6 of Lily O Brien’s crispy heart chocolates. The honey is kindly donated by Terry’s Honey from east Cork.

The Valentines gift costs €15 and the proceeds of this gift will support small start-up business and community ventures in a very rural area of Kenya. Bee-keeping is one example of how families in Londiani have generated income to support themselves.

If you are looking for a Valentines gift with a difference this year - this is it!

Friends of Londiani have been working with communities in Kenya since 2002. ‘Harambee’ is a Kenyan tradition of community self-help events and the word in Swahili literally means ‘all pull together’. FOL have adopted this name for their community projects, the first of which took place in 2002.

Since 2002 many volunteers from all over Ireland and some from overseas have travelled to Kenya and worked in partnership with the local communities to help improve their quality of life. Details of this year’s volunteer projects will be announced in February.
